The week of a lifetime

A shared experience of a stay at 9 The Links

My name is Natalie Gulbis and as a Tour member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association I had the privilege of competing in the 2007 Women’s British Open – the first ever women’s golf event held at St Andrews. To make my week even more memorable, I stayed at the premier golf luxury home, The Residence, No.9 The Links.

The modernized three storey home overlooks the 18th green and 1st tee on The Old Course, the R&A Clubhouse, the Old St Andrew’s Hotel and has panoramic views of the shoreline. Watching the sun set over the 18th fairway from the third level balcony at The Residence is breathtaking – an experience that does not compare to anything I have ever seen!

The location is ideal for anyone who loves the sport of golf, luxury shopping, sightseeing, history and tradition. It is minutes away from the famous Claret Jug Pub, historic monuments, beach and all of St Andrew’s shops and restaurants.

The amazing three level contemporary yet classic residence is newly renovated with new furnishings and state-of-the-art electronics. The interior and exterior are stunning. My favourite spots of The Residence were the open kitchen with private atrium and the balcony extended from the master bedroom that sits above the famous 18th hole at St Andrews.

My favourite moment of the week was walking over the famous Silken bridge on the 72nd hole of The Open and approaching the green looking up at my mom and best friends who were on the balcony of The Residence cheering me on. This was a once in a lifetime experience for me to spend my time at No.9 The Residence in the most historic golf destination in the world.

I can only hope that many will get to experience everything that Scotland, the Old Course and The Residence has to offer. Thank you so much for letting us stay at your beautiful residence for the 2007 Women’s British Open! As a member of the LPGA Tour, it was a historic week for us to have the opportunity to compete for a Major Championship on the Old Course. To be able to spend that special week in a luxurious home, a mere lag putt from the 18th green, is something I will never forget!

Number 9 The Links is a MUST for anyone travelling to Scotland for the ultimate golf experience. So much history has literally taken place right there. To be able to stand on the balcony and see the Road Hole, Swilken Bridge, 18th green and R&A Clubhouse was simply incredible.

Throw in the newly refurbished rooms, modern amenities such as flat screen televisions, spacious living rooms, central entertainment centre, and wireless internet, and we could not have asked for more. You even had the place stocked with food and drinks!

Natalie and I cannot thank you enough for your generosity. We really appreciate everything that you guys provided! Our entire group had a blast, and everything was first class!

All my best!
